Rainbow Balaclava ENGLISH
The Rainbow Balaclava is worked flat in garter stitch, meaning that all rows are worked in knit. First, the top of the hat is worked. Then stitches are picked up along the sides of the top of the hat, and the work continues flat. Once the hat itself is finished, new stitches are cast on in extension of the hat and worked flat with increases to shape the neck of the balaclava. Finally, the neck is seamed using mattress stitch, and the neck opening is finished with ribbing worked from picked-up stitches.

Type of yarn & tips for scrap knitting
The Rainbow Hat is ideal for using up yarn scraps.
It is knitted with yarn with a yardage of approx. 100 metres per 50 grams, for example:
Peruvian Highland Wool fra Filcolana, Double Sunday fra Sandnes Garn, Lima eller Daisy fra DROPS Garnstudio or Lima fra Hjertegarn
Remember to knit a gauge swatch before you begin, as the finished measurements are only reliable if the correct gauge is achieved.
Gauge (after washing)
20 stitches x 44 rows (22 garter ridges) = 10 x 10 cm, worked in garter stitch.
Suggested needles
3.5 mm circular needle (60 or 80 cm), or the needle size needed to obtain gauge.
3 mm circular needle (40 cm) for the rib edge.
